I believe in making wedding photography that’s authentic.
I strive to create fine art images that are beautiful and timeless. My photographs are vibrant, intimate, and romantic.
I specialize in photographing with medium format film. To me, there’s nothing more beautiful than the warm skin tones, dynamic range, and life-like color that can be produced by shooting on film. I also shoot with the best digital gear Canon has to offer, and while always seeking natural light, I’m completely comfortable shooting in any light situation.
What does fine art photography really mean? It’s become somewhat of a buzz word and often loosely referenced in wedding blogs. To me, fine art wedding photography is an approach. It is an intention to make a beautiful photograph or portrait that is, not only aesthetically pleasing, but which also reveals more. An image that evokes an emotion and immediately takes you back, an image that can stand alone but also belongs editorially bound in a book.
I love wedding details, capturing behind the scenes, always candids, and, of course, the monumental moments. I know where to stand, and when to stay out of the way. It’s my job to guide you through portraits, and I promise you won’t even notice I’m there most of the time. I absolutely love my work. I am a high-energy person, and deeply motivated. At the end of the day I’m a story teller and that’s exactly how I approach each and every wedding day. I’m not afraid to fall in love with my clients, and don’t take one second for granted when they invite me into their lives to document their history. I photograph each wedding honestly, creatively and in the most beautiful way possible. Shooting with a fine art approach comes natural to me after being classically trained in art school. There, I learned about composition, light, tone and color. I was a painter first and now, a photographer.
As a wife and a parent, I understand the importance of family more deeply than ever before. It brings me so much joy to capture this on film and to share these treasures with my clients later. I truly have the best job in the world!
I was born in England and moved to the States where I met my husband, Bryan, while working at the Biltmore Estate. We live here in Asheville in a farm house that we built together with our 3 children and our Golden Retriever, Milo. I am a free spirit and am constantly planning the next big adventure. I’m inspired by love, relationships, and living in the blue ridge mountains.
